this song makes me cry. not because those kids cry even if that was sad too. What makes me cry is the fact that she's right. every life lost had a purpose whether it was die when they did or be ruler of country. when that life is lost we're forced to except that we'll never know for sure.

I know the video doesn't portray it like this, but I interpreted the lyrics like this: The "nice boy" was being bullied and brought his dad's nine tup school and shot people. Mary and Greg were either random targets or possibly offended the nice boy in the past
