  • I will have to say thank you all for loving this song. Cuz that is my Dad singing in it. He was about 19 years old when it was recorded back in the early 70's. The B side song didn't make it as a hit but is actually my favorite track on the 45. Unbreakable Toy is the title.

  • is your dad still alive ? (sorry to ask that) is he aware that in the mid 70's thousands of kids would travel the length and bread of the country to hear, listen and dance to the legacy which is now termed northern soul......it is a great great version of a great jazz r&b standard and i loved dancing to it at wigan casino.if you have a suitcase of original copies then let me know !! x

  • Haven't stopped dancing since I heard this track again recently. Keep the faith !

  • I just watched the movie soul boy, what a blast, I needed more northern soul, this popped into my mind from muscle memory, after hearing just 4 seconds of the intro I had to stop it...moved my chair out of the way....started again and danced, danced, danced...memories are wondeful things, this track is like a time machine for me, great post....keep the faith!

  • @poochyt You could also try Richard searling, he would know and shouldnt be too hard to contact online, can't say i'm keen on what Ian Levine puts out, personally I feel he takes a good tune & trashes it, i'm sure there are lots who do like what he does, to me, it detracts what the genuine article offers, it's like the soul has gone and some kid on speed has just dived in and taken over....ok a tad extreme, but I feel quite strongly about it!!! :-)

  • @surreytownsoulie I've seen a few posts on other tunes where the children and relatives of singers groups on the tunes we love comment. Is'nt that fantastic, makes you feel we really have kept something going.

  • a fantastic rare tune........i have a different version on cd but still amazing.....tell your dad thanks for such a great tune

  • briil song jim, we played this at Bonnyrigg last nite

  • Wonderful - too cool !!

  • Still the biz ...great track tks :) ktf
