I rode the LIRR for 13 years. The one thing that pissed me off was guys calling the house and asking "what's for dinner?". Dude, aren't you going to find that out in 45 minutes? Will the answer you get change your travel plans? Some cell calls were simply gab and disturbed the peace.

We all buy tickets to get on the train. It is NOT your private ride into the city. I took the LIRR in and out of work for years, and I did not have problems. This guy is a bully, and is the kind of a person who will LOOK for things to get upset over. He is ridiculous!

Bravo for this guy! And shame on the reporters for suggesting that he drive to work.

LIRR has assholes as passengers and as employees.

this guy is a jerk
probably got beat up in 5th grade and he blames the moron commuters on the LIRR
The guy has a point. Its not fun sitting on a train at 7AM trying to catch some sleep or read a paper to hear a bunch of knuckleheads being loud.
As for the woman who slapped him, you deserve to get slapped back.

I hated the LIRR....
UNTIL I DEVELOPED A SENSE OF HUMOR!!!!!!
When you ride the LIRR, you need to take things in stride. I don't always get a seat, and it's often crowded and noisy. But I take along a newspaper to read, a bottle of water to drink, and I keep my cool.
This guy needs to start driving to work.
