Hearkening back to the early 1950s, this dance is inspired by the idealized love of a caring woman that male recording artists like Ray Charles and Elvis Presley immortalized through their music. In the present day, where much of popular music tends to objectify and hyper-sexualize the figure of the woman we hope that our dance will be a refreshing interlude in which the audience can experience a taste of more innocent times - where a kiss could be an act of reassurance to a man and nothing more. We would like to thank our dancers profusely for their amazing work ethic and unfalteringly positive attitudes they have displayed this semester. Though they are few, we assure you, they are mighty.
