Hello & Welcome!
You can use this website to advertise goods and services, and to buy and sell with other users and advertisers.
You won't need ordinary money, as we use an accounting unit called the Trade Credit. Every user has an account, to receive credits when they make a sale, and to transfer credits to other users when you make a purchase.
You can trade as much or as little as you wish. The idea is, to balance your sales with your purchases over time.
You can start right away. Every new account receives starter credit to encourage you to begin trading. To join, you give your name and contact details, your Username and your 'Trading profile', that is, your Offers, your Requests, and other optional information - your interests, your qualifications or areas of experience.
For now - consider what you'd like to Offer , and what you'd like to receive - your Wish List as it were. You might offer a single item, or a variety of goods and services. You'll see a drop-down list of categories that include Accommodation,
Art and Crafts, Business, Commercial, Domestic, Personal, Educational, Agriculture, Food, Health, Leisure, and Lifestyle.
Advertising is free of charge. [0%]
Every account has an overdraft facility that is interest-free, with no charges. The more you transact, the greater your overdraft facility, that's if you choose to use it.
We encourage people to use their credits, as LetsTrade is not a savings bank, rather it's a marketplace for sellers and buyers.
The L.E.T.S. in LetsTrade stands for Local-Exchange Trading System - or as some prefer 'Energy Transfer System'.
It's quite safe to trade in Credits - the LETS system has been accepted by local Civil Authorities the world over since it began in Canada in the 1980s.

It works using network accounting, which makes it possible for a wide range of users to exchange resources among themselves - from ordinary people everywhere, to businesses and commercial enterprises, LETS is a simple way for people to exchange the resources they have for the resources they require.
Finally, A word about Vouchers, Gift Vouchers and Personal Vouchers. Everyone can create a voucher
It's simply a signed and dated promise to provide something of value in the future.
A voucher can be handwritten, and exchanged for Credits using the LETS - So - any individual or group (Club, Society, School, Charity) can fundraise Gift Vouchers from anyone, from members and supporters, and convert these vouchers into purchasing power, and into other good and services using the LETS exchange.
New developments on the way include mobile-phone payments and accounts retrieval, feedback and ratings, search item no tifications, account controls and some social networking.

Well done! A great concept, and I wish you all the best getting it off the ground. I love the presenter's voice - deep and reassuring, with no umming and ahing......should be a radio commentator! RTE producers - what about a weekly LETS programme to make a change from the doom and gloom?
