Please rate and comment! I enjoy learning from the feedback.

One of my all time favourite songs here, based upon the version found on MJH's '1928 sessions' album, which is my favourite recording of this number. This is played on a Martin 000X1, with a capo on the 1st fret, because on the record it sounds like it is tuned up half a step. Hope you all enjoy!

  • sorry ..to clarify it's not pausing..but the bass strings aren't being strongly plucked when you do the trill (I call it tickling those..heh) on the high E and B strings. Cheers!

  • I couldn't agree more, but I hadn't been playing fingerstyle for many months at the time I done this. I'm considering posting a new one as I can actually play it now! haha

  • We share a lot of the same musical interests! I love Martin guitars, fingerpicking, etc. You are very good. One bit of constructive criticism is that throughout your version, there are places where the base "Pauses" looks like your fingers are going for the strings. I had the same issues when learning his stuff. I'm no expert, but after hearing myself play it over and over and over, it stands out. Your technique is wonderful though. cheers! - I plan on posting some vids soon..just got on

  • thanx, i'd hadn't really been playing the guitar that much at this point, but i know what you mean by the point about pausing. looking forward to seeing your stuff!

  • Alright i've really been wanting to get an acoustic

i play guitar and have been playing for about 3 years, but mainly electric guitar. so i've been doing alot of research and i've narrowed it down to the martin dx1 and the martin 000x1 since u have both i thought u'd be the person to ask. which one would u recommend? i'd mainly be playing alot of blues/ slide and country stuff.

thanx man and keep up the awesome playing :)

  • hey, thanx for the comment. i'd have to say that the 000X1 is great for fingerpicking, and probably has the edge for my style. but you really have to play both to see which one sounds good for you.

  • great cover!

better than your other cover of this song.

aghh you played this song great.

  • Thanks for the great fingers work.

  • very well done. your timing in the syncopation of the treble riffs is different throughout the song and it gives it a great varied delta blues sound. thanks for putting up this video!

  • i dont know why i cant figure out that fuckin treble riff ive watched a thousand videos and i still cant play it!!!!
