SUMMARY
This film is an introduction to planetary exploration and scientific satellite research planned for the 1970s. The film briefly describes plans for Mariner flybys of Mars, Pioneer studies of Jupiter, landings of Viking spacecraft on Mars, a Grand Tour of the Outer Planets, and solar and other astronomy research.
This film was awarded the following: the Columbus Film Festival, 1970; International Film and TV Festival, 1970; Council on International Non-theatrical Events, 1971; International Exhibition of Scientific Films, Buenos Aires, 1970; and Golden Mercury Film Prize, Venice, Italy, 1970.
