http://bigcitymusic.com/ A customer asked about processing an electric guitar with the Sherman Filterbank 2 and this is one of the settings we came up with. We're also using the Eventide TimeFactor set to a very short delay time in Digital Delay mode.

Roger Cordell at Big City Music is playing the Strat and the amp is a Fender Princeton. Funky!

  • I always wondered whether there was any danger in running these into guitar amps. I thought maybe the Sherman being set wrong could be bad for the speakers. Is there anything you have to watch out for when doing this? Are you just going straight into a guitar amp? Thanks for posting this!

  • @drednot717 The amount of risk depends on what amp and speakers you are using. If the amp is powerful enough to blow your speakers, the Sherman is certainly capable of driving your amp to the limit with very low frequencies which may not seem so loud, but your poor speakers may not be able to handle the huge exertions. If your speakers are rugged enough and can take it, well no problem then.

  • Wow! What a great demo. Sounds like foldover distortion <3

  • thats exactly what compression, limiters, and eqing is for.

  • everyone buy from roger at big city music. (oscar) i traded some gear with him years ago. he is a very honest, and nice guy.

  • @drednot717 Try putting a limiter in between then Sherman output and your amp input. This will control the audio level so it won't blow your speakers. Hope this helps : )

  • damn that's sick

  • that was pretty awesome.

  • I have been after one of those for 2 years. it is expensive, but you can do a lot with it.

  • damn that was fast, I asked that on my way into work and when I get home here it is, lol
