United Nations, New York, 11 March 2010 - John Holmes, Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator, briefs reporters on:
1) His recent trip to the Middle East: Mr. Holmes repeated the call made by the Secretary-General and other UN officials for a relaxation of the blockade to allow Gazans to live something more like a normal life, rather than the existence which they have at the moment.
2) Pakistan: Mr. Holmes condamned the appalling attack, part of a continuing pattern of assaults on aid workers in Pakistan.
3) The situation in Haiti: The main priority for post-quake Haiti remains emergency shelter, the top United Nations relief official said today, adding that the world body is scaling up efforts to ensure that everyone has a roof over their heads by the time the rainy season begins in May.

The UN should have been talking about it eons ago... Bit late now guys, might be time to actually do something for the people in occupied Palestine... Maybe...
Or continued inaction... I mean it wouldn't be past the norm.
