1-1-08, Quebec City in Canada terminated its fluoridation program after 36 years joining Montreal and Vancouver.

Isle of Man announced 12-6-08 that it was abandoning fluoridation after a gov survey showed the public opposed the plan.

Other communities recently rejecting fluoridation include Dryden, Ontario; Littleton, Massachusetts; and Yarmouth, Massachusetts.

The City that started it all 63 years ago in 1945, Grand Rapids, Michigan is now questioning the safety of fluoridation.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.

The great American assault on tooth decay began here 63 years ago, earning Grand Rapids a special place in the annals of dental history: the first city in the world to fluoridate its public water system.

So it is more than a little head-scratching that fluoride, the chemical widely credited with dramatically cutting cavities and promoting oral hygiene, is having its scientific credentials questioned in the city that literally swallowed it first.

The belated questioning of fluoride in the place it first started stems partly from unsettled questions, some new some old, about possible links to cancer, thyroid and kidney problems if too much fluoride is ingested.

If Grand Rapids stops fluoridation that will set the precedent for the rest of the world.

This year the National Kidney Foundation ceased advocating fluoridation because of threatened litigation due to damage caused to people with impaired kidneys.

Our Gov is still pushing it.!

I can't see that Grand Rapids can stop fluoridation as it will have world wide repercussions - all good for the Anti-fluoride case.

If it happens, then there'll be BIG problems getting rid of the industrial waste - they won't be able to poison us with it anymore. They'd have to find another way, which I'm sure they would!

WE wouldn't be importing it from China anymore, where THEY don't use it! They remove it from their water.

Doubt if it will happen but I sure hope I'm wrong!!!

GEELONG unionists will push State Gov. to include a referendum on fluoridation with ballots for Nov's council elections. Geelong Trades Hall Council voted last year to support fluoridation only with a referendum.Trades Hall now opposed Government after its announcement last week that fluoridation will proceed without a public vote. Industrial workers had a higher level of awareness of the danger of exposure to toxic chemicals such as fluoride. Many workers already get tested for fluoride levels.

The Food Standards Australia New Zealand board will be meeting next week on 19th March 2008 to determine if fluoride will be allowed to be added to bottled water.

A 2004 study of fluoridated and unfluoridated children found " no significant difference" in the decay rates of permanent teeth of children aged between 10 and 15 years.

FSANZ will be deciding on an application from the Australian Beverages Council and if approved, bottled water that is fluoridated will be clearly labeled.

We have fluoride in our drinking water because of one thing: P.R.O.F.I.T.

Understand that government gets paid big bucks to put it inour water you'll see why they ignore us.Big industry like mining,fertiliser and aluminium smelting need to get rid of this poison and it costs less to put it in our water than to dispose of it safely but their is a second evil agenda and it is not a conspiracy theory it's conspiracy fact that it dumbs us down ,makes us docile less likely to protest it also sterilizes us and gives us cancers which is a multi billion dollar industry

Everyone should watch this vidio, its disgusting that some people can think they can mass medicate with harmful chemicals, the whole population, all for the sake of stronger teeth,but what about bone cancer,asthma,arthritus,skin rashes.What about the right to clean water, we have to swallow enough chemicals nowadays,what about the chidren?

Fluoride has a dumbing effect on the brain. What a great way to treat a lot of people at the same time, so they don't want to ask questions. We were all taught to 'not make waves'....believe your doctor, teacher, higher authority, because they know better than you.

The party is just getting started, and people better have some really good answers to things like this.
