WP7 Mango scrolling smoothness compared to NoDo

One of the great new things in Mango is the improved scrolling in third party apps. In the video above, we compare the scrolling in easyTube and Flixster, using a T-Mobile HD7 on the Mango Beta 2 and another T-Mobile HD7 running the official NoDo release.

Scrolling is clearly much smoother in Mango, and it's almost as smooth as first-party apps like the People hub. Scrolling also seems to react to your touch a lot faster with Mango, and it is hardly ever choppy like NoDo. However, if you were wondering, the Facebook app is still pretty choppy and painful to scroll through.... that thing is a total mess. But any decently written application should see major improvements in scrolling!

And on the topic of games in Mango loading faster... we are currently researching the load speeds with a large sample of games and will publish the results soon, just like we did with our NoDo Load Speed Comparison! So far, Fruit Ninja doesn't load any faster on Mango, but I Dig It loads in about 12 seconds vs 18.

I was wondering if I should update my HTC HD7 to Nodo now or should wait for the official mango release? the nodo update is about 212 MB. I wonder what would be the size of Mango update. (PS size is a concern as i am a on a slow connection with a 24kbps download speed ;) )

@precogtyrant Well... the way previous updates worked was that you had to do each update consecutively, so you'll probably have to update to NoDo, then to Mango, instead of going directly to Mango. So get updating now!

I always thought it was pronounced like "Know Dough". Any reason why you say it like you do? Am I missing something, or is it just personal preference, or...?

@joestrouth1 I've been pronouncing it incorrectly this whole time haha. The way you said it's pronounced is correct. I guess I just thought No-"DEW" sounded better verbally haha...
