Robopop Basics Choreography Class Feb 9th 2010

Hey all!

Welcome to Robopop! Inspired by 80's street dance movies Wild Style, Breakin', and Beat Street, to what is now some of the most popular dances seen on MTV's "Americas Best Dance Crew", and Fox's "So You Think You Can Dance". Robopop combines popping isolation's and robot, or limb isolation's, in freestyle sync with the music. In this class you will learning all the different styles as Tutting, Strobing, The Robot, Popping, Waving, The Moonwalk, Gliding, with some mime mixed in to keep it from getting to serious. :)

I am currently teaching this fundamentals piece of choreography every Monday night at 7:15 at Galaxy Dance School in Austin Tx for students to become acquainted with the movements, and to practice the fundamentals that are so important when learning any dance. The class begins with a warm up of practicing different mussel and limb isolation's, followed by arm wave practice, then onto the choreography.

Following my class is "Funk Musicality" (as it's called at the time of this writing). Maestro helps us now incorporate the movements you were practicing in my class with the forum of choreography, but to now freestyle it to the music, by listening and anticipating the music.
