Heard Cohen singing this song in concert in Marseille last year, just as Sarkozy had ordered all Roma (gypsies) to be deproted from France. It sure took on a very special meaning for the audience, in a town that gave up its jews justa bit too willingly in 1940-45. And then he sang "The Partisan" and the roof flew off.
