HEY Darby, meet you over 40 years ago. When I meet your MOM,and her Yorkie...Darby I missed seeing you at Fort Fisher,Baltimore, and hope to meet ya'll before long.....Thanks so much on Daniel Boone...
Why haven't you mentioned he was actually born in Berks County, Pa. (near Reading) and was there until he was about 16. The Daniel Boone homestead is a state historic site open to the public and comprises about 579 acres!.
I loved the old Boone program, but never took it seriously as history, which it wasn't. And we needn't examine any jump-the-shark stuff, either. Parker and the producers intended that the show would be entertaining, not a series of history lessons. Old Dan was no Fess Parker, but he was still an extraordinary man; and Hinton seems determined to make that clear. Rock on, Darby!
Hello--when I was a young boy, Darby came to Georgia and appeared in an episode of the Route 66 TV sho2. Darby and I played together as the episode was filmed in our country store and other locations in my small south Georgia farming community (called Nevils, GA). I wonder if Darby remembers this? I have never been able to find that episode, but would love to see it.
Please let me know if Darby has any recollection of this.
I was a child when I used to watching Daniel Boone adventures. Althoug living in Brasil he was a hero for us too and now it´s really amazing to hear from you Darbi who took part in the original show about this documentary that refresh our memories leading us into the best of old american history. Congratulations!!
Very Cool Darby Hinton! You are an awesome brother & an amazing actor who really cares about the history. I am proud to call you bro :) It is amazing having you tell this history!!! Love that man... Daryn Hinton
I've wondered for years what happened to Darby Hinton! Not only was he the envy of many young boys, including myself, because of the adventures that he surely must have had playing Israel Boone on the Daniel Boone Show. We saw him at an appearance at a "western town" in Maggie Valley NC back in the late 60's or early 70's. I can't wait to see the full documentary and it's great to see Darby Hinton again!
Darby's right! It IS a catchy song!
