@joeymackaroni Well, considering Jefferson himself did not repel Hamilton's financial reforms, I don't think that they were at odds in monetary policy, at least in action. Furthermore, Hamilton never designed a mercantilist system as the United States did not have any colonies to funnel in resources, or bullion, as a mercantilist system requires. His measures of funding at par and assumption helped to tie together the states as a coherent union and involve private investors in the government.
