Walkin' Down the Road ( to martial law )

( see Song Lyrics below ) Ron Paul, Chalmers Johnson, & Dwight Eisenhower are featured in the latter part of this video. This song takes an "alarmist / worse-case-scenario" approach to make a point. What is this road on which America seems to be travelling ? ... hope it's not the road to martial law. Originally composed in Nov. 2010, inspired by Ron Paul's TSA speech to Congress, and by the passing of talented writer Chalmers Johnson ( author of the "Blowback trilogy" & "Dismantling the Empire" ).

Government says this ailment can be cured.
Watchful eyes from camera perches. Step right up to body searches.
Submit, and your safety is assured.

Aw, what a pretty little patch of panzies we have grown !
It's not safe for me to be left alone.
Terrified of being free -- maybe they should run my life for me.

Trusting souls -- remote controls -- taking it all in.
The media moves the merry-go-round with just the perfect spin.
Government business grown so huge. Can't you hear them say
the old laws in the Constitution don't apply today ? ( They're lying. )

We defend the brave and free, and the banking powers that be.

Walkin' far away from peace & love,
and the world we grew up dreaming of.
Is today too late to say that we have had enough ?

I'd rather the song was "Walkin down the road to rediscovering our Constitution, dismantling our global military-industrial Empire, & taming our gargantuan federal government beast which US citizens assume will just handle everything for them" ! ( not quite as catchy of a line : )
