"Counter balance of armed power"? Call me crazy, but I don't think gunning down government officials with assault rifles is the best way to express political dissent. In a democracy, people have the power to vote leaders in or out, or even run themselves if they feel strongly enough. Seriously, are you a fan of third world military coups or what?

America is a Constitutional Republic. What this means for us is that the majority have the right to decide what happens in free and fair elections, but within a framework that respects individual rights above the will of the majority. Its one thing to lose an election, its another to have your rights trampled on by the "Tyranny of the majority" as our founders warned of. I don't believe in political violence to achieve ideological aims, but I do believe in violence to protect individual rights.
