  • Yet the XLS and XXLS have the same XMAX according to Madisound: 12mm.

  • And that is wrong. XLS doesn't have extended pole yoke. 11mm mate, no 12! XXLS = Xtended Xtra Long Stroke

    XLS = Xtra Long Stroke

  • My XLS200 has the older Peerless XLS10 driver, it goes very deep with BKelec custom 275W 4x16A amp. What's the most big difference between XXLS and XLS series?

  • Biggest difference is the excursion. The XXLS has a bit more en thus can play deeper stand alone in comparison with the XLS.

  • Just got the same subwoofer to day, just with a passiv radiator too. I can shure tell that it plays nicely .. :) With LOTS of power.

    Just seem like you over powered a little there, when you can here at the end the voice-coil touch the buttom of the magnet. But also notice the excrusion will drop extremely when you put it in a enclosier.

    Good luck with your project ..! ;)

  • I know, it's out of it's enclosure, so it's bottoming out a little. It's powered with 270 watts and when it's in its enclosure (52Liters, 32cm port with 7.5cm diameter) then it's not driven over it's max mech excursion.

    I will make a video soon of the finished product! In my other video's there's some material showing the unfinished product :)

    Thanks for the comment !

  • Short and sweet. Sure, gotta be careful not to damage the driver when it's not properly loaded in an enclosure, and you won't produce any bass without a baffle or box. But...what you should note is that the driver itself did not produce noise as so many inferior subwoofer drivers will. This line of Peerless woofers is head of the class and can perform extremely well in a properly designed system. I use the 12" version with a passive radiator and it is fantastic!

  • I Wonder why they named it XXLS The X-Max is the same as the Regular XLS...which is 12 mm.

  • @PassieWassie The PDFs at the Tymphany site say the XLS is 12.5mm whereas the XXLS is 12.3. Don't see any logic in that, really...

  • Awesome woofer, I have the 12" version of this, kicks butt.

  • nice woofer
