i think two things kill the Nash Metro was two things one it was aone seeter plus the three speed tranmision colum shift I heard Austi who made it thogh americans would have diffculty with four speeds nthe floor that I feel i s laughable look at the VWamerica it seemed had no difficulties getting use to ititwodlhave been a really neet car if notfor those two mistakes

It's not the "Smart Car Of the '50's" it's better than that. Even in England in the 1960's when I was a lad everybody laughed at these cars! Over here they are called Austin Metropolitans and you still see a few around at old car shows

It's often said that the Austin Metropolitan conbined the worse of Engish engineering with the worse of American styling.

What a god awful piece of shit, I can't believe the public would have bought these cars. Must look really good after getting rear ended by a full size SUV at 60 mph
