The lads visit Sam in hospital, and agree to his request that he wants to spend one last night with his 'other woman', Lilly Bless'er. Unfortunately, while at Lily's, Sam passes away. It's up to Foggy, Compo and Clegg to get him back home without his wife Sybil finding out. This was a 90 minute special, a film made for television.

  • Bit of a "one off" that one.No laughter track...darker comedy and John Comer's last episode before he died.Back then the writing was at its very best with the heart and soul of the series "cast-wise" still present..

  • I love the series and have been working my way through it from the start here on YouTube, but I didn't really like this episode. It ends very well, but I just had a hard time with what seemed to be out of character actions by Foggy (getting drunk) and Sid (who was sober) with the whole mid-episode scheme to move the body back to the girlfriend's house. Especially after all they went through in getting Sam back home to begin with.

Still, a great series and liked how they filmed this one.

  • RIP John Comer. Certainly was the best of the supporting actors.

  • The best comedy that has graced tv

  • Watched LOTSW as a kid in the 80s - sad to see it's finally gone. Still lots of nostalgic value watching the old ones.

Fitting that Peter Sallis got the last lines and I wish him health and happiness for the future - never too old Sir :D

  • Indeed, the best episode/movie/whatever! So well done and written!!!

  • loved the episode

  • Great show. I never knew they made a 90 min. movie. Pity there's not more of them
