Quick demo of a few of my favourite freebie AUs . The tune kicks off with one instance of the TAL Elek7ro synth which provides a good range of basses and leads and is really simple to program. A second instance kicks in after 4 bars and then the whole thing is distorted, filtered and compressed by the Camel Crusher. Next Prosoniq's North Pole is added with an automated cutoff for some more juicy filtering.

Pads and bells are supplied by Native Instrument's Massive. Whilst not strictly free, you can get 30 mins of use from the demo version and render it to audio if you're really quick :)

I won't be ditching my Virus C any time soon, but pretty happy with what you can do with these freebies.

Apologies for the tune, its a bit scrappy and cheesy, just put together quickly to showcase the plugins.

Cheers

  • i have used free plugins before but my hard drive failed. When i got a new one i reinstalled them exactly like you but when i launch logic it cant/doesnt find them, i tried force searching for plugins by dragging the com.apple.audiounits.cache file to the desktop but still nothing. other plugins with installers work fine.

    any idea how to fix?

  • @MightyBass101 And you have tried going to the Audio Units Manager under preferences and doing the reset and re-scan?

  • @Konnekta yea still doesnt find rough rider, fuzz, some other random ones

  • @MightyBass101 try logic-users-group, there will be someone on there who will know the issue

  • Thanks for posting! I had no idea of the ;TAL & North Pole free Audio Units. So this was very informative! Cheers mate!

  • @robtriton no worries, the TAL synth has been superceded by Noisemaker, which is also a freebie, since I made this video

  • @MightyBass101 I'll send you a PM.

  • @CelticProgeny when i do get info to change to 32/64 bit the only option i get is open with rosetta?

  • @CelticProgeny awesome but how do you launch in 32 ?

  • @MightyBass101 You need to start Logic in 32 bit mode for it to recognise your plug-ins. Once detected you can switch back.

  • @Konnekta thanks for trying.. i was just copy pasting it into videos on the off chance some one knew
