Take a tour of Buenos Aires Obelisk in Buenos Aires, Argentina - part of the World's Greatest Attractions travel video series by GeoBeats.

Buenos Aires Obelisk is a grandiose icon of the Plaza de la Republica in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

It was created by designer Alberto Prebisch in remembrance of the fourth centennial of the founding of Buenos Aires.

It was constructed in 1936 in a record period of 31 days by 157 workers.

This feat was accomplished by building the 67 meter high obelisk using a quick drying cement called Incor and Olean white stone.

There is a lightening rod at the apex, as well as four windows that can be accessed by climbing its 206 steps.

Over its lifetime, the monument has donned many costumes to bring attention to world problems and historic occurrences.
