It happened as if it were in slow motion. He turned around ever-so-slowly, making her more and more anxious to see his face. He was tall, dark, and handsome. Very handsome, indeed.

"He's your type, right?" her father nervously whispered.
Subconsciously smiling, I nodded in response.

Could this really be happening? Am I on some twisted reality show, she thought.

Her father discreetly left her side, leaving her around with this handsome stranger.
"So you work with my dad, huh?" Selena asked, rocking on her toes.
"Yeah." he chuckled lowly. "He talks about you a lot. How proud he is."
A genuine smile crept on her face, feeling warm at the thought of her innocent father.
"He must really like you." she nodded to herself. "You're the first guy he's ever pushed me toward." she laughed.
"Oh really now." he raised his eyebrows.
Selena gently pushed his arm. "Don't act all smug now."
"Me? Smug?!' his eyes widened sarcastically.
"Shut up." she rolled her eyes playfully.

"So did you enjoy the party?" Selena's dad asked.
She laughed. "I'm sure you already know since you were watching me and Taylor."
"I wasn't!" he rebuked.
"Mhm." she nodded. "Sure, dad."
"Are you seeing him again?" he persisted shamelessly.
"Yes, we're having lunch on Monday." she answered affirmatively.
"Monday? Why not tomorrow? Sunday's perfect."
"I uh, I have a date tomorrow." she said quietly.
Her father cocked his eyebrow and stared at her suspiciously. "I thought you weren't dating anyone."
"I said 'not technically'." she pointed out.
He sighed, resting his hand on her shoulder. "Who is he and what does he do?"
"Well the first guy--"
"There's two?!" he practically shouted.
