Hawaii Artist and Art Educator Kazu Fukuda Kauinana talks about his artwork 'O'opu Hi'u Kole at Kapolei High School. The art project was commissioned by the Hawaii State Foundation on Culture and the Arts, Art in Public Places, Artist in Residence Program. This film short was produced and directed by Robert Bates.

  • Kazu Kauinana, I saw the article in the Star Advertiser about your Oopu hiu kole sculptor at Kapolei High School. How fortunate the staff and students are to have a reminder of why they are there. I have never known of any school in Hawai'i having such an inspiring work of art. I wish we could get one for Kailua High School.
