  • How about nuclear disasters and excessive fuel usage?

  • Lets just say Global Warming would be an ACTUAL issue if politicians kept their hands off it. Nothing good comes from a politician gets involved in actual science.

    Global Warming is science, and George Carlin in this video is talking about the arrogance of humanity to control nature. He does think Global Warming is real, but it won't destroy the planet, the planet is fine, it is the people that is fucked.

  • I don't really consider myself to be an anthropocentrist but I have a feeling that we will have an important role to play in the future of the cosmos, and if not us then perhaps a more advanced race. Consciousness and self awareness are too novel to simply be the arbitrary by-product of an indifferent natural process.

    Anthropocentrism is not the problem, egocentrism is. And yes, there is a massive difference.
