@laibanez Try listening to the Dave Van Ronk version. Might be the best, if there is such a thing as the best. It's certainly good.

Of course I like it. I'm a fan of both Joni ans Hayley. I think Hayley's version of this song is as good as Judy Collins' . All of them dignified Joni's creation.

Hayley sings this song well, and it carries a different meaning to those who hear based on their experiences. Hayley is young and has a fresh outlook, although I am sure she has had a number of ups and downs by now. The message of the song is even though we have all of this experience, we still don't know life, nor do we know love... at all. After a life of failed relationships we can, along with Ray, sing "A Song for You."
