@InitialDriveGTR Yea thats ok, I program for small projects. What language did you use? Where could I find the information to interface between the car and laptop? I've used OBDII connectors, is that what you used? Just pretty much building a touch screen computer, low specs, reads intake/ exhaust/ coolant temps, fuel consumption and what doors are open using the alarm sensors.
Thanks man, don't want to copy anything, just want a system like what Nissan has.

@robase50 No problem and thanks

@InitialDriveGTR You don't owe me any explanation on the dynamics of this project, but i appreciate the info. I want to mimic what you have done with my e39 540i Now i have a better scope of what needs to be done. Anyways , tight ride.

@robase50 You ask where to get one like you want to go out to best buy and pick one up. I will happily help you make one. But I WILL NOT do it FOR you. You need heavy experience in embedded systems, car electrical systems, Analog and digital circuitry experience, I used VC++ .NET to code the interface, USB experience (trust me getting the two to sync up was a bitch) and you need to craft the whole system into your car. And so far I havent seen another like mine. So stop acting like a child.

@NorkiddExo But yeh, if its written in a language I know, any chance you could share the code that accesses the system. Be using my laptop to plug in with my obd to com port cable.
Such a simple thing to enable, yet SO very difficult!!!! I would go with an aftermarket, but wanting the clean in-dash look, plus the ability to chase down why the anoying ABS light which randomly comes on. I've got a S70 switch like they told me to get which matches the cluster harness, so just the enabling now.

Hey man, what language did you write it in? Also if you don't mind telling me, how did you wire it into the OBD system?
I've got a n/a S70 and need to think of a creative way of enabling the onboard trip computer, which can only be done electronically. It's a 98' so an asian ripped off vova software won't work, needs to actually change the info switch value.
Please know I would get a volvo dealership to do it (Dad works for a company which has volvo) but they no longer do this for 98's.
Where can you get these car pc's installed at? I can't do it myself and I don't know where to go to get it done

@hubabacunda106 I've said it before. You can't go out and get this "installed". I MADE it from scratch, so in order to get this, you would have to: 1) Pay me to buy all the parts (exspensive) 2) Have a car that can run it 3) Leave your car for over a week at my house while I custom fit it to your car. In other words, you can't.

@InitialDriveGTR Hey man I think I emailed you before, could you either tell me what needs to be included in the software or give it to me?
Thanks, really want this on my laptop to record data.

@NorkiddExo The software is my own that is coded specifically to my hardware. The hardware does all the low level signal dirty work, so It would be no use to you. sorry
