  • wow a huge radiohead influnence on this one . you guys know that ed obrien and phil selway from radiohead performed with neil finn back in 2004 for some shows. they are huge fans

  • Yeah, the recordings of those live shows are just amazing. I was also wondering whether it was that interaction that led to some mutual influence.

  • I hear Radiohead also... the synth line in the background is very "Airbag" or maybe "Kid A" era sounding. Thanks for the video!

  • I agree - I was also thinking of the "Kid A" era. Thanks for the comment. :)

  • Fantastic stuff! I too hear Radiohead in this one...

And yes - thank you very much for posting Sir.

  • Thanks! You're very welcome. :)

  • My God... They look like they're having fun with this song. I hope they do this on their next album...Assuming there will be one.

  • @spoons99999 Strange, I liked the album version! The thing with bands like CH is that often live versions sound better than the studio: e.g. fingers of love. Hence, if you get familiar with the live version, the studio sometimes loses its power. I heard FoL live first, but TiYL firstly from the 'Intriguer' album.

  • The version they recorded and which they subsequently left off the album is horrible compared to this one. It's probably why it was left off the album. Such a shame as this is a great song done this way. Sadly, they also made a mess of Twice if You're Lucky which is am amazing song too. They tinkered with it way too much and it isn't a patch on the versions played live in early '08.

  • I actually like Neil's Falsetto on this track. The fact that his falsetto is rough is actually what makes this song what it is.

He is always in key in this track when doing his "Falsetto", which is more than you can say for most live bands. If you listen to Chris Martin's falsetto (from Coldplay) his falsetto is pure, but he is a terrible live singer and his falsetto always sounds really weak in a song live - just listen to "Fix You" live.

  • @HumansLib Did you purchace the album through iTunes? I did-just for the studio version of this. I think it turned out great. I'd love a really clean professionally recorded live version.

  • @Tiawamutu do you know how well the song actually came out in the studio? when i listen here it sounds fantastic (save Neil's falsetto - sorry, Neil...) but the preview on Itunes sounds more subdued and perhaps, sadly, with less emphasis on the bass and synth line.

  • @robnkristen91

It's on the intriguer deluxe edition on itunes, but not on the album :(

  • hoping this will be a b-side or itunes exclusive or something....

  • HOW is this not on the record?!?!?

Maybe (hoping!!) they're adding it to their performance-only repertoire with Throw Your Arms Around Me? (please!!!)

  • how could this possibly be left off their new record, it's great, listen to the crowds reaction , to a song they've never heard.
