Gah! I don't know what the green artifacts are! I've uploaded this thing 3 times. Anyway, the fractal was made in Corel Painter X using the Growth tool. I painstakingly fiddled with attributes of Growth for each frame. I used a grid to place the root, but put it in a slightly different place each time for a hand drawn feel. The video is a loop of the tree animation 3 times over with different video effects from iMovie. All three loops have the watercolor effect to blend them and give a film feel.
The music was created after the fact using GarageBand. I didn't compose it. The soundtrack was scored in GarageBand using the scoring tool. I couldn't decide on which audio loop I like best, so I used three that fit (Time Lapse, Lotus, and Jaracanda). Miraculously, it all works, and there is an overall effect of depth. The fade at the end kinda sucks.
This reminds me of cell division under an electron microscope, and also the double slit experiment (I think it has to do with the bifurcation).
How was that made? I hope that wasn't done with pen on paper and 100's of hours of time.

I did it with Fractal Painter and it only took about 3 hours I think, including the music.
