WHRC wedge plow in action South Uniacke, NS, 4 January 2010

The Windsor & Hantsport Railway (WHRC) used its wedge plow 55360 built in 1928 by EEC on 4 January 2010 on a 3 car freight train between Windsor and Windsor Junction, Nova Scotia. The train was powered by two 55 year old GP9RMs owned by the Central Manitoba Railway (CEMR) and leased to the WHRC. Both the locomotives and plow were originally owned by Canadian National. Truly a time warp! The train is seen eastbound (railway direction) at South Uniacke, Nova Scotia. I don't think it was the horn on the plow. It sounds more like the horn on the locomotive.

It was difficult to tell as I was filming but I think it was indeed the locomotive horn. I have compared it to another clip of 4014 leading and it sounds deeper but that is probably due to the colder weather.

If you look carefully in the cab of the plow neither operator appears to be operating the horn - there are no arm movements that correspond to the various horn blasts.

There's a few horns on the plow, if you stop it at 1:19 and continue lookin' at the top, you can see 'em.
