Test of my own custom micro servo. I'm using a PIC10F222 as the controller and a hall effect digital latch to count half revolutions of the threaded rod. Resolution is about 0.004", threaded rod is 000-120.

  • Nice! Did you make this yourself?

  • @n2thee yes

  • @angrymonk55 Do you use a magnet and a sensor to make it count how much the motor have rotated? (from what I could see at the end of the shaft)

  • @n2thee correct. it counts half revolutions of the axle.

  • @angrymonk55 Nice! Doesn't the motor produce noise for the magnetic sensor, or is it so low that I doesn't really matter at all?

  • @n2thee The motor probably does, but its low enough where I haven't noticed any problems yet. Its actually kinda surprising. I thought that might be a real flaw w/ this design.

  • Any recent updates on this? I'm keen to learn more about the circuit and where you obtained the threaded rod. I have not found anything smaller than M1 (cut it myself with a M1 die). Haven't seen you on RC Groups for a long time!

  • Thanks!
