  • Dan Burbanck im your fan # 1 (y)

  • @danh5188 wonderful ! ,, it is just so darn hard to keep up with many of the space expeditions , and thank you for the awareness of the to type SLAMMD into > YOU TUBE ! site ... hopefully my brain cell can and will follow up of this mission ...> thanks . you really want to be up there too !

  • @emerald1one1 SLAMMD is really only used in conjunction with biomedical experiments as it is one of the only ways available to the astronauts to measure body mass changes in microgravity. Type SLAMMD into the YouTube search bar and the first video result has two previous astronauts giving a really good explanation of the device.

  • @danh5188 then the test is necessary for future ~ travel into space to see how the human body handle the pressure of accelerated forward motion . they should already know of how some materials are affected . was the test including fabric outer wear , or just the human body . the test seems to be very different than testing a bicycle helmet , but this one test sounds like the person is in the helmet . if possible explain further . thank you

  • @emerald1one1 The device being used is called SLAMMD and uses springs to recreate a calibrated force. It then measures the acceleration of the device while the astronaut holds on and is able to then compute their mass.

  • Yer engaging the USA public and all, how about actually engaging them not boring them. I know the ISS tasks are pretty dull sounding but in more detail they are very interesting. Give the videos a bit more enthusiasm.

  • what kind of force used against a crew member 2:16 approx.

  • NASA!! :D
