Human remains in disturbed grave, New Orleans Cemetery

This was in a cemetery in the projects of New Orleans. I filmed crypts that were so bad that skulls and bones were literally falling out of their tombs!

@cons789 I picked the skull up briefly to get a close look, and placed it back. I have a morbid curiosity, but I do respect the remains & maybe I shouldn't have touched them. I wasn't worried about disease, these bone are over 100 years old. Any active disease agents are long gone. Unfortunately this cemetery is heavily neglected & is surrounded by rough housing projects. Neighborhood punks have been breaking open the crypts and stealing the skulls to use as bongs. Now that's disrespectful!

Most people in New Orleans (many blacks) are VERY superstitious! Not many would use these or any skulls for bongs! Many of the graves are simply crumbling from age...any that are being broken into, are having the skull taken for Voodoo purposes, but even this is rare...otherwise, the skull you picked up wouldn't have been there.

This is the epitome of disrespect for the dead. No one has any business approaching a tomb in that condition unless it is to repair the damage and to seal the remains back inside.
