    you haven't use the old versions of kindle? In fact that 's the nature of all eink screen. if you want a "regular" refresh, go to setting and change the refresh rate from every 6th page to every page.

    As I stated above, I've had all 5 generations of Kindles, and am very familiar with the refresh properties of e-ink. This has to do with the lighting.

    That's normal. Eink's screen quality degrades with each page turn, so a flash is required in order to rid the screen of any "ghosting".

    I'm very familiar with the routine flash of e-ink; I've had kindles since the first one. My problem is the bright light that happens at #6. See what I mean?

    I honestly don't know what you mean. My Paperwhite does the exact same thing with the light flashing like that. If it's an irregularity, then we both have it.

    He's not talking about refresh, he's talking about the light, which filters out. You can see the light sheds through a small slit, when it shouldnt.
