Americans know the price of war, and as reasonable people hope that matters can be resolved without the cost of war.
In 1993, iraqi agents blew up a bomb at the world trade center. the bomb was laced with cyanide, an attempt to use WMD. They also got 15,000 dollars from Al Queda. Iraq was not following the terms of the ceasefire agreement. They had bribed the French, Russians and Chinese to coopt the UN Security Council. Sanctions were about to be lifted permitting WMD manufacture to resume.

The US got involved in many wars less because we're "good people" but more due to economic and national our interests. Vietnam was not much of a moral war and Iraq is not so much a moral war. Our involvement in World War II had a great deal with Hitler upsetting global normalcy & stability on top of the fact he was slaughtering millions of people. You think Iraq was based on large numbers of Americans agreeing on war? Or Vietnam? Americans even opposed going to war in WWII for a long while..

I don't understand your logic. Why would it be a good thing for the US to run around bashing other countries? Why would it be a good thing for Russia to do that? US is run by the people, and we don't invade places based on "evil" we do it based on a large number of US people agreeing that it is the right thing to do. By your way of thinking Hitler getting in early was more moral than Ireland staying out? Odd that, no?

I do question Irelands neutrality, only on appreciating Hitlers views on the Celts-but this is another side line.
The US leaves itself open for such critism because of these post war images and messages about saving the free world and defenders of democracy etc-which in reality the US failed to do as you did not decalare war on germany for invading poland-as gb did. The US farted around for years until even the japs lost patience and bombed the US-you have seen my previous comments

It's ridiculous how people act like it's not a big deal when you call the japanese to japs. It's discriminatory.
