The Spinster's Waltz 2:00
"you've got your cute little I'm dancing smile on"
Choreography: Anne Burke
Musician: Ashling McMahon on Concertina , Lisa Canny on Harp
Dancer: Lizzy Demaree
This piece is a great piece to perform. It works with the musicians to the music in the way I hear jig rhythm. It takes competition steps and juxtaposes nicely the next piece, which is contrasting in everything, but the dancing steps, which are very into the music.
Into Miss You (Waltz) Cotillion 3:00 Ben Wittman
"Its about learning how to conduct yourself with a nice dress on"
Choreography: Lizzy Demaree with assistance from Anne Burke
Dancers: Luis, Dillon, Nessa, Courtney, Niamh, Dale
Musicians: Aisling McMahon on Concertina, and Aiden on Piano, Aine on Fiddle
This piece was conceptualized in July 2009. It has grown from 2 couples, to 3, the most visually pleasing number. This piece has steps that are articulated perfectly to the music and contrasts with the previous piece, as the last piece is a solo waltz. The costumes are classy and understated.
Circle of Joy (Hornpipe) 2:00 Celtic Christmas
"Becoming Consistant"
Choreography: Lizzy Demaree with Assistance from Anne Burke
Dancers: Lizzy
Musicians: Lisa Canny Harp and Ted on Guitar, Mike on Gutiar, Aine on Fiddle
This choreography was done in 2008 and changed partially in 2010 to accommodate my injury. This piece demonstrates articulation in hard shoe as well as timing and rhythm. The music is a piece of music I used to put on repeat in the car on the way to dancing and is my mom's favorite song.
