@smokythejet No one has ever even been close to 140, and certainly not Tennessee (the quietest of the 100000K+ stadiums). Decibels are measured logarithmically, not linearly, meaning that 140 decibels is ten times as loud as 130. Not only that, but 140 is the threshold for sustaining severe hearing damage.
As far as I know, Clemson holds the outdoor record with 126 db (Washington's 132 occurred in the 90s when they were playing at the Kingdome).

@GGGRRR The Swamp can't even compare, and I've been to at least 15 games there (and 6 at Clemson). Not taking anything away from the Swamp, but as far as sheer noise goes nowhere compares to Clemson.

I love the bickering and arguing. Here's a refreshing comment - I contributed to the 117dB in the above video. We know how to get loud.

Washington has gotten 134.1dB Clemson has gotten 133.9dB

@smokythejet um no washington huskies do with 133 or 134 unless they broke it last year

@Zbubble19 Old comment I know. But I gotta say it. Tennessee holds the record with over 140 decibels. :)

Trust me...its not. I was at the Swamp when Florida played LSU the year they shared the National Championship. Great game and great atmosphere but it couldn't quite match up. If the swamp couldn't top Clemson's decibel meter then, they never will.
