  • @AleXy86 The same thing goes for Avast. Kaspersky had only ENG and RUS support (and a chat-bot). The only one that could help me in my native language (German) - on the phone - was Symantic with their Norton solution. I didn't even wait half a min. and I had someone on the other side, talking to me and guiding me through the huge mess on my PC. So, while those freebie proggs are nice, I do think paying for some "special" features is very neat. This is why I will stick with Norton - for now.

  • @cbader92 I had a Trojan on my computer yesterday. It always kept coming back. MSE tried and tried (hours!), but failed. I called MS for help (EU), because the MSE (online) help-form told me to do that (promising me a person that would help me). After waiting in line and listening to a BOT talk, the robot told me to go to MS-Website and download MSE, in order to clean my PC. Then it hang up. Erm? Okay. Then I called Symantec. Then a sweet Symantic chick sent me "Power Eraser". Now I'm virus-free.

  • @cbader92 i am also a avast user and imo its the best free alternative to a anti virues

  • This video is awesome! There once was a time, where Norton was the best you could get. Those times are over. Free alternatives like MSE, Avast, AVG or Avira (and many others) work just as well as lots of commercial antivirus software. I use Avast, because I love the "successrate" and the options. Some computer magazine tested 10+ free antivirus programs with some antivirus-testing-company. Big victory to Avast. It captured lots of stuff, that many others didn't catch :) Choose whatever you like!

Uhm, Microsoft's software is FREE. That makes a huge difference.

Although I also know that Norton has improved their software memory footprint and stuff, I still choose Microsoft's software because it does the job very decently knowing it's free.

  • @AleXy86 Microsoft is still very far away from the level of protection and security awareness Symantec can provide. Look around and get some high level analyst reports.

  • Just use Microsoft Security Essentials...it's free and good. BUT I must say, this video is awesome! :)

  • Indeen, norton screws it all up.

    but lol @ the vid

  • LMFAO, this is why I've never used virus protection. I've always figured if you're a safe internet browser, and you don't download stupid files, you'll be okay. Just today though, for the first time, I noticed Malware icons on my desktop. Looking for a gamer's antivirus now :/

  • awesome vid lol
