@cc29350 At this match, you were allowed to keep a loaded pistol holstered. Rifles and shotguns had to be clear if you were going to either move with them or ditch them.

@phamtastic0 Safety. He shouldn't be carrying two loaded guns simultaneously. USPSA rules would require that the shooter ditch the rifle (either loaded and safe, or completely clear), and then ditch the shotgun before drawing the pistol or recovering the rifle. Doesn't seem like those are the rules being used here, but safety is the primary reason if I had to bet.
