School bullying still in the spotlight

The death of high school freshman Phoebe Prince has exposed the scope of the bullying problem in South Hadley schools. At a meeting Tuesday night, parents expressed outrage that nothings been done to stop it.

That girl you just called fat? She has been starving herself trying to lose weight. The boy you just called stupid? He has a learning disability and studies over 4 hours a night. The girl you just called ugly? She spends hours putting on makeup, hoping people will like her. The boy you just tripped? He gets abused enough at home. Think before you act. I was picked on for years in high school, thanks to the show jackass I got into skateboarding which saved my life, saved me from doing somthing self destructive! Skateboarding as well as punk rock is a positive outlet for me, I embrace being deforent, not conforming to the system or authority! Most of the kids who picked on me were those jocks and ambercrombie wearing rich preppy kids! Thats anether reason I love skateboarding we are anti jock/prep!

Most high schools are run by jocks and preps

I certainly hope something is done about it! I feel strongly about this issue bulling leads to suicide people should stand up to them. So many kids and teens die from this.

I've had my fair shear of trouble with other kids at school I've been spat on, called horrible names to my face and behind my back and pushed over, repeatedly its nuts. no one deserves to be hurt like this.

Can understand Gamindore, but don't we learn from it. We strive not to be like them and become the opposite. We can feel what other's go through when the same type of bullying is done to them.

Yes so you said Glamindore. Sometimes it helps learning about the basis behind those that suffer with Narcissism. A complete lack of empathy and a desire to hurt and inflict suffering on others. Where as we as doctors and nurses, try and heal the suffering. As parents we try and get rid of all the bad traits, so the bad traits are not ingrained into their personality and we teach them to care about others. To build up their empathy skills. The world would be a much better place.

@chavrons1 Dear Chav, I really respect your point of view, but in my case especifically, this teatcher bullyied me with no reason, since the first day of class, and during the year. And I have aways been a very good student, very good, I even got great grades in his examinations, I really hate him. This things happen my friend, world is a big place.

Or bad students who repeatedly bully their teacher because the teacher is unable to control them. Still there is much work involving schools to crack down hard on bullying and cyberbullying, even bad teachers.
