Coyote on the run!

Recorded by my wife Chris near Fisherman's Bridge, Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming. We had spotted this coyote earlier on the lake shore. Later we noticed the usual crowd gathering and as we drove past the coyote reached the edge of the road ahead of us. Despite distracting calls from behind it trotted beside us for a short distance before veering off into the adjoining woodland.

are you sure it was not a fox? kinds of looks foxy to me, with the pointy face and dark tip on tail. sounds like another one was yapping at it, from far away.

Pretty sure it's a coyote - Although there may be a small bit of over-exposure a gray fox would have a tan belly and "cinnamonish" flanks? I think the yelping was either a dog or human distraction.

Yes, it's a coyote. A very pale one at that- beautiful! It seems almost white in this video. They do occur in that pale color, though, esp. in northern areas like Yellowstone.
