For millions of people the Kymera Wand is a wish come true, bringing alive the magic of fantasies such as Harry Potter. Inside the wand's ancient-looking exterior beats a heart of pure science fiction - it is the world's first motion-sensitive, buttonless universal remote control. With just a flick and a swish the Kymera can magically control a TV, DVD, digibox, iPod dock or almost anything that uses a standard infrared (IR) remote control.

See http://www.thewandcompany.com for more details

The remote-controlled lamp in this video is just a regular lamp with an infrared (IR) remote-controlled lampholder fitted between the bulb and the base. This is the one we used, but there are several similar products available: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Time-Guard-Re...

Hi Mario. Thanks for the enthusiasm! The wand contains an infrared (IR) receiver and transmitter in the tip - it learns and replays the IR codes from almost any regular IR remote control. You can read more about it at our website (see the video description for the link).

Hi Leon. I'm afraid that the wand won't work with most garage doors - sorry!

It's a regular lamp but with an infrared (IR) remote controlled lamp holder fitted between the lightbulb and the lamp socket. If you search on Google for "IR remote lamp holder" then you should find a few options. (Unfortunately, YouTube won't let us post any links in these comments, but I'll add an example Amazon link to the video description at the top of this page.)

Thanks for your comment. Yes although we can't absolutely guarantee that the Kymera will work on every device, it is a universal remote control and if you still have the remote that controls the fan, then the Kymera wand should be able to learn the remote control codes and control your fan with a swish and a flick. I have used it to control fans and it is a really cool way to control them.

hey, i just wanted to know - i have a fan light that lights up my whole room and it works with a remote. it can also dim, and as its a fan, well... you can guess its other uses. but do you think it could work with the kymera wand, or i should buy some special thing to go with my fan?
