Here's a young starter the breeder couldn't get the roller on.
Note: The circling to the left she was doing when I was riding her was her thing, trying to pull her out of that circle before she was ready would just turned into a fight so I just sat tight until she broke from the circle or till she gave up resisting and let me takeover.

Because of the level of experience needed "Hybrid Horsemanship" techniques are specifically aimed at trainers and not for the average or beginner horse person.

DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME!
I am a trained, well respected, professional with 20 plus years of experience and even then sometimes I get my butt hurt. My videos are for entertainment purposes only and are not intended for training nor should be replaced for a professional trainer.

  • nice job in helping her. i'm always looking for a little bridge or starting point. you could try to separate all of your behaviors of putting on the roller from the roller itself. without it on, reach down and rub the girth area. practice leaning into her space there and rubbing her girth area. she seemed most sensitive to that spot almost like a ticklish person. throw a rope over her back and reach for that and practice just picking it up and releasing it. a starting point? my 2cents

  • Love the Tap method does fix many problems.. hand in hand with the One Rien stop, its the best technic ever.. has helped my training tremendously, even though I stopped taking in crazy horses.. now I just do small problems.. got a 5 year old to take care of
