@zaierk Nothing wrong with having alters. They are there for a reason. Once you deal with all the pain they are holding and have been created to hold, then they can merge back with the cord person, this is not a mental thing. Nothing wrong with their mind The mind has the ability to separate trauma from the core part of the mind until its able to deal with that trauma then that part that got separated can merge back into the core, i would be happy to talk with those who have DID

Sorry, I really don't know...even though I've been in mental health many years, I never had a client myself with multiple personalities...see if you can consult a psychiatrist...best of luck...Raven

Maybe but if you're diagnosed with this disorder it could happen again. Talk to your psychiatrist...Raven

Hi I have just two alters one with depression and the other very happy energetic type my therapist thought that I was bipolar but then knew that we were different on how we spaek and how I can hear their voices calling me and telling me what they did every now and then. For that they also confuse me for schizophrenic but if I was, the voices could not talk back to me if I was a schizo. Right now I don't have any therapy and they have just diagnosed me for DID, so i don't know what to do.

Hi, I truly feel you need to get a medical diagnosis that only a psychiatrist can give you. As you may know the psychiatrist is a MD that can diagnose not a therapist. Therapy might be helpful once you get that diagnosis...Good luck!...Raven

I am aware of what my "other" does while he acts ands speaks but it's more like i am a passenger within my mind while hes there BUT on a few occasions I have been actually able to talk with him in the mirror
is there a words for this other than DID?

I'm not a Dr. but this could be just the symptoms of DID or since mental illneses sometimes overlap...you could possible have another illness. When you say you can talk to him in the mirror could this not be a hallucination?
