Thanks to all who commented on my community video. The comments and responses give me much to analyze and ponder and I hope to plow through and share the results. In the meantime, please enjoy my new video, on a work of art I saw while on a recent trip to Montreal.

Officially entitled, Le Malheureux Magnifique, this piece was sculpted by Pierryves Angers as part of a college competition. It is installed on a sidewalk in Montreal, Canada. The inscription apparently says:

"To those who look within themselves and cross the frontiers of the visible."

  • I love how I can sit here in Georgia and view a sculpture in Montreal from a number of different angles, only one hour after you posted it. Yet another thing I love? That I met you on a gorgeous day and gathering in September in the South and because of that contact, I'm alerted to your postings. The sculpture is nice; the connection is beyond measuring.

  • Yes I agree this is one of the neat things about video sharing. It is so much fun to make connections with other people by sharing those day to day experiences. And then as rafter12 said, share and hear other people's reactions around the world. So much fun. Thanks for the comments!

  • wow how interesting

  • Weird! Puts me in mind of 'The Thinker', only more of 'The Worrier'. I'm guessing the label says something like "Those who look inside themselves and transcend the obvious/visible as a result." (my French is not good).

  • this is pretty interesting video

  • yeah, i can sit here in kansas, see a sculpture in montreal and find out how someone in georgia feels about it. that's cool. the sculpture is also cool. thanks, everybody.

  • Interesting design. Very appropriately named!

  • Thanks for posting this unusual sculpture. It sort of paraphrases what the Fox says to the Little Prince- "On ne voit bien qu'avec le cœur;l'essentiel est invisible pour les yeux " ["It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye." Antoine de Saint-Exupery

  • First to view, first to comment, first to 5 star. That's a cool statue. We should all be self reflectin' without such life is meaningless.
