makrites plan was to unite with greece also. If you deeply research this issue by ur own u would find the truth. If the greak leaders wants to blame someone i suggest them to look at the mirror they would exactly who to blame. Between 1960 to 63 they lived in peace. But when makarios didnt make up this makrites plan all these wouldnt of happened.

everybody saying these crimes hapened in cyprus but nobody dare to name these killers and punish them ,some turkish cypriots maybe should take the cyprus goverment to internation court for crimes against its citizens and for doing nothing to protect them ,then maybe they will be forced to take these criminals to court.i dont believe you can ever forgive these people or there will be honest relations between tcyp and grcyp if war criminals dont pay and are treated as heroes.

@bigfish6661 this is actually really sad, u r talking about human beings u know! the 30% are human beings. and cypriots need not to be greek`s or turkey`s or whatever. my grandmothe knows turkish and the turkishcypriots i know speak greek. so i guess greece, turkey and UKI should just let us be. and it s not cypres, is Cyprus, latin for Copper

Hey people need no know the facts cypres was never ever the greeks in the first place {In 1878 as the result of the Cyprus Convention, the United Kingdom took over the government of Cyprus as a protectorate from the Ottoman Empire. The first British High Commissioner was Lieutenant-General} it was the ottoman empire which is turkish of course please read your history and find out the real facts. Dont ever forget the superior difference between Turkish miltrey and the now bankrupt greece.

First Turkish troops need to leave Cyprus, why havent the Turks done this. Only then can peace even start. But the island needs only 1 government. Cypriot (GREEK Cypriot)

@tracer1024 No it was Ottoman.And an Ottoman is almost always not a Turk,because they were a very small portion of the population.By the way when the Ottoman archives refer to Turks they mean the Turkomans which they considered primitive.As you also know the dominant millet was called the Muslim one,from wich arose the ruling class.And by the way the ruling families never called themselves Turks.Only the first rulers of the dynasty had true Turkish origin.
