NEW Christchurch Relief

Tuesday 22nd February 2011 saw devastation strike the New Zealand city of Christchurch. Northcross Intermediate students, from Auckland, wanted to show their love and support. 1058 students and more than 80 staff members signed a 5 metre banner that will be sent to Christchurch to lift spirits and let them know we are thinking of them.

Im in chch and as sad as it is we should be greatful its not on a scale like japan, but we should have been smart like them and had all of our buildings reinforced, i cant understand why they didnt. But i guess whats done is done and we just start again!

@cheekyglamgurl The fact is, we get a >7 every three years, we don't know where, so EVERY city needs to be prepared for that. We have been lucky that they have been away from populated areas so far. People like you who run around saying that means that I'm some sort of mad psychic hippy are the reason that nobody built up to code in Chch. It states QUITE CLEARLY that ALL of NZ is at risk of a major quake every three years. Anybody who says "We never thought it would happen" is a moron.
