The noise is made by the compressor not by the gun or the sand hitting metal...Small sandblaster is fine-I use a 10 gal 200 Max PSI tank with a Sanblasting gun at 80PSI and it works quite well for small pieces. I mostly do manifolds, valve covers, exhaust and rust removal etc.

I have recently gone into the sandblaster endever. Well on top of the fact that you need a powerfull compressor, you need something to dry the air out to keep the blaster from clogging. Me and my dad have a project truck (96 OJ edition black bronco) we are doing the body side of the project and I discovered how expensive painting and doing auto body work can be. To get back to the story, when I am all prepared to do like 1.5 hours of blasting at least, the blaster clogged 10 min in.
