Fpbmq1 you can get yourself a 50mm prime lens, f1.8 to f22 real great for portraits or a zoom lens like a 15-85mm. It's always best to get a good quality lens with a wide variety of aperture from f1.4 to f22 this will give you more options get better pictures in different light conditions indoor/outdoor, day/night and depth of field. Think of what you take pictures most of or if you like a variety of different types of pics from portrait to sports pics to determin the lens you'll need.

thank you for the info.

@pisrits none...^^ these are too standard... better invest some money and buy something really good. like the 60mm 2.8 usm macro. i mean, you can move, and with this lens you can make really good pictures and also macro pics with 1:1. it also works well for portraits =)

I am new to using DSLR. I was thinking of getting this camera to grow on as I learn more about photography. What lens do you recommend for me to get? I basically like taking picture on anything interesting and I hate to change lenses every time like others do because also of the cost! Please help! Thanks in advance!

very informative! thank you.
It's worth mentioning; you need to register these additional settings in C.FnIII:Autofocus/Drive menu, as they're not on by default
