COURTENAY - A teenage girl from the Comox Valley says she is thankful to be alive after a dramatic rescue above a raging river.
She spent two terrifying hours clinging to a log in the Puntledge river in Courtenay as rushing waters threatened to pull her under.
When ground rescue crews couldn't reach her they called in the military and a chopper from CFB Comox swooped in to hoist her to safety.
